The FOREA Webinar Series
The Orthoptist’s Guide to Preparation, Presentation, and Publication of a Clinical Research Project
The Foundation for Orthoptic Research and Education in the Americas (FOREA) announces a novel, web-based continuing education series on research for the clinical Orthoptist! This 12-part series will take the Orthoptist through every step in the design, execution, analysis, publication and presentation of a project. This knowledge is valuable not only to Certified Orthoptists (COs) who are interested (or required to participate) in clinical research, but to those who wish to learn how to critically read the literature. The latter will assist the teacher in imparting knowledge to students, improve medical writing skills, teach the CO how to effectively review a manuscript as part of an editorial process, and ultimately raise the scholarship level of Orthoptics; the ultimate goal of the continuing education experience!
Each 90-minute interactive webinar will be presented by an experienced researcher, speaker, writer, or teacher. Most will be structured as a PowerPoint presentation followed by Q & A, but some will be interactive workshops where attendees can receive personalized feedback and guidance on their work.
Webinars will be held at 630 PM CST on the 4th Wednesday of every month. Registration is required and a link to register can be found after the description for each webinar.
FOREA depends on support from generous individuals like you to fund our webinar series, orthoptic student scholarships, CO travel grants, CO research grants, and so much more. Your gift helps keep these programs available to orthoptic students and certified orthoptists. Please consider a 100% tax deductible donation to help keep FOREA’s mission of advancing the orthoptic profession by fostering excellence in education and research alive. A small donation of just $25 will help keep our webinar series free to Certified Orthoptists and Orthoptic Students. Thank you.
